Elderflower Syrup

Pluck some elderflowers.

 

 

I’ve made a elderflower syrup without using any kind of citrus fruit acid for maximum taste.

 

 

Just boil sugar syrup, pour over the elderflowers and lemons. Close, in the fridge for 2 -3 days.

 

Drain, boil and fill up! Done!!

 

Elderflower syrup tastes good with sparkling or flat water and of course in a hugo drink. You can also use in desserts or cakes.

Zutaten
  • 12 umbels elderflowers
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 liter water
  • 500 g sugar
Anleitungen
  1. Boil water with sugar for 10 minutes to a syrup.

  2. Cut lemon in slices and place with elderflowers in a jar. (1,5 liter e.g a cornichon jar)

  3. Pour hot syrup in the jar and close immediately. 

  4. Leave to cool down and place in fridge for 2 - 3 days.

  5. Drain in a pot (use a cloth) and bring to boil.

  6. Rinse bottle in very hot water, fill in the syrup and close immediately. (1 liter)
