Grease and flour a 26 cm Ø spring form.
Drain cherries in a sivee.
Preheat oven at 170° C.
Whisk butter, sugar, vanilla and salt until light and creamy.
Stir-in the eggs, one by one.
Mix the dry ingredients and stir in the red wine in the butter-mixture.
Pour in the spring form.
Spread cherries on top and press slightly in the mixture.
Bake in preheated oven at 170° C for 60 - 70 minutes.
Leave to cool and dust with powdered sugar.
You can use cherry juice or grape juice instead of red wine, maybe better for children.
