Our favourite marble cake recipe.
Grease and flour a bundt pan.
Mix softened butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until light and creamy.
Mix in 3 whole eggs and 4 egg yolks one by one. Stirring inbetween.
Wisk egg whites, sugar and salt until stiff.
Fold in flour and stiff egg white in the butter mixture.
Divide half of the mixture in another bowl.
Mix the cocoa powder in one half.
Pour the two dough halves alternately in the bundt pan.
For the marble effect, go slightly with a fork through the dough.
Bake in preheated oven at 160° C for 75 to 80 minutes.
Leave to cool in the bundt pan for 10 minutes, then topple the cake and leave to cool down completely.
Dust with powdered sugar.
Tastes best the next day.
Wrapped, it will keep for a few days.
