Plum Sorbet
For me, plums anounces the fall. When you have fresh plums, they have to be used quickly.
So I made a Plum Sorbet.
A sorbet is usually poured over with sparkling wine and eaten before the main course in a menu. The mixture of plums with sparkling wine is said to
stimulate digestion and reduce the feeling of satiety.
We, prefer to take this as a dessert. Even though its geting colder outside, a plum sorbet is always a delicious treat. Then we just cuddle up on the couch. 🙂
It doesn’t really need much time to prepare, in the freezer for at least 6 hours, there you are.
- 450 g plums
- 300 ml water
- 130 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon bark
- 4 cloves
- some lemon juice (to taste)
-
Half and pit plums.
-
Bring water, sugar, cinnamon bark and cloves to boil.
-
Add plums and cook until soft.
-
Remove spices and blend.
-
Mix-in lemon juice.
-
Pour mixture in a freezeable box.
-
Leave to cool and place in freezer for minimum 6 hours.
Remove sorbet out of the freezer 10 minutes before serving.
Goes well with sparkling wine.
Enjoy it!
