Chocolate Pretzel

, ,

These Chocolate Pretzel are definitely one of our favourite biscuits this year. A crispy biscuit dipped in chocolate. Simple and so delicious!

I hand-formed this pretzel. A colleague of mine told me there is also a pretzel cutter. I didn’t know that, but what doesn’t exist today? 🙂
But I am proud of my selfmade Chocolate Pretzel!

Chocolate Pretzel
  • 300 g flour
  • 200 g butter, in small pieces
  • 100 g icing sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • some grated lemon peel
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 250 g semi-bitter chocolate
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or coconut fat
Short crust pastry
  1. Mix all ingredients and knead to a dough.

  2. Form dough to a 3 cm thick roll and place wraped in cling film in the fridge for half an hour.

  3. Cut small slices from the dough and roll to a 0,5 cm thick and 17 cm long "rope". Form pretzel.

  4. Bake on a baking tray with baking paper in prehateted oven at 170° C about 10 minutes.

  1. Melt chocolate and coconut oil over a bain-marie. Dip pretzel in chocolate.

If you place the dipped pretzels on a baking paper, you can remove it easily. This is difficult when you use a grid.

Enjoy baking!
