Chocolate Pretzel
These Chocolate Pretzel are definitely one of our favourite biscuits this year. A crispy biscuit dipped in chocolate. Simple and so delicious!
I hand-formed this pretzel. A colleague of mine told me there is also a pretzel cutter. I didn’t know that, but what doesn’t exist today? 🙂
But I am proud of my selfmade Chocolate Pretzel!

- 300 g flour
- 200 g butter, in small pieces
- 100 g icing sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- some grated lemon peel
- 2 egg yolks
- 250 g semi-bitter chocolate
- 1 tsp coconut oil or coconut fat
-
Mix all ingredients and knead to a dough.
-
Form dough to a 3 cm thick roll and place wraped in cling film in the fridge for half an hour.
-
Cut small slices from the dough and roll to a 0,5 cm thick and 17 cm long "rope". Form pretzel.
-
Bake on a baking tray with baking paper in prehateted oven at 170° C about 10 minutes.
-
Melt chocolate and coconut oil over a bain-marie. Dip pretzel in chocolate.
If you place the dipped pretzels on a baking paper, you can remove it easily. This is difficult when you use a grid.
Enjoy baking!
