Christmas Beetles
I call it Beetles, because for me they look like this. The recipe is from my dear aunty and she is amazing in baking. Thanks a lot!
They stay soft because of the marzipan (almond paste). Delicious!

Gericht:
Biscuits and Cookies
Zutaten
- 100 g almond paste (marzipan)
- 300 g butter softened
- 120 g icing sugar
- 15 g vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 egg white
- 320 g flour
The finish
- apricot jam, nougat or nutella to fill
- melted chocolate to dip
Anleitungen

Grate marzipan and whisk with butter.

Add icing sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and egg white (liquid) and mix. Last add flour and mix.

Fill in a piping bag with a star nozzle. Pipe beetles on a backing tray (with backing paper). Let to cool it for some minutes before baking.

Bake in preheated oven at 180° C for 10 minutes.

Order the biscuits (2) by size, put jam in between. (Or nougat, or nutella)

Dip one end “the head” in melted chocolate. Now it looks like a beetle 🙂
